What We Believe

“The same Lord is Lord of all and is generous to all who call on Him.”
Romans 10:12

A Christian is any person who has chosen to put his or her faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, and to follow his teachings. A Presbyterian believes that all people receive God’s love and by that love are called and empowered to make the world a better place for this and future generations. A member of Green Valley Presbyterian Church regularly attends worship and is involved in the life and ministries of this church family. Members uphold the church through their prayers, their presence, their service and their gifts.

Joining the Community

“And immediately they left their nets and followed him.” Mark 1:18

A disciple of Jesus Christ is one who follows the Way, the Life and the Light of God as revealed through Jesus. The fundamental question is NOT “Do you agree?” but “Will you join me?”

There is no one way that Jesus approaches us. And despite our doubts, lapses, denials and failings, Jesus never gives up and continues to love us saying…let’s pick up the pieces and see what we can make together. Follow me!

If you are considering the call of Jesus to lay down your nets and follow him, we encourage you to talk with one of our ministers or lay leaders. Remember, we are all walking this path together and your company would be a great gift.

“And day by day the Lord added to their number.” Acts 2:47

It is a privilege to be a church member, and we joyfully welcome all who enter God’s house.

If you are being called to take the next step toward learning more about membership in Green Valley Presbyterian Church, we encourage you to join us in one of our New Members Classes offered four times a year.

The New Members Class is a casual gathering of people like yourself who want to know more about this church and its beliefs. The class is an opportunity to learn, not a declaration of your decision to commit to membership. It is a service to all those who want to explore meaning of membership in greater depth.

Contact the pastor or one of our elders to get more information about the class or the next scheduled date.
